STRIVE DC -- One of the best small charities in Washington DC for 2009-10

STRIVE DC assists unemployed individuals in the Washington, DC area in obtaining the skills to get and keep a job through its intense three week attitudinal training course where people who lack these basic skills are transformed into work ready individuals.

STRIVE DC was established as a response to the overwhelming percentage of residents currently unemployed in the inner-city neighborhoods of our Nation's Capital and the lack of effective programs to combat this problem.

STRIVE DC serves these inner-city men & women of any age, preparing them for obtaining and maintaining employment through three-week attitudinal job readiness training.

At the conclusion of a training period, STRIVE DC offers job placement and two years of post-placement support. Statistics have shown that between fifty-five and sixty-five percent of the STRIVE DC graduates have obtained and maintained employment two years after graduating from the program.
